I got to interview the lovely, chromeantennae

Q. When did you discover deviantART and what made you start using it?

A. I discovered deviantART at a pretty young age, actually. I think I was 8 or 9 and admired the artists on here for years. Particularly Sonic fan-artists 'cause that was my love at the time. (Still somewhat is. Lol.) And I visited the site without a profile for quite a long time but once I met a friend of mine on a different site (I eventually left that site), I joined deviantART to stay in contact with her.

Q. When did you begin writing?

A. I wrote prose and Sonic fan stories when I was around 10 years old and I played with these different concepts for years. Even up to now (Even though I don't write Sonic stories anymore), but I started with my poetry late October of last year. So my poetry started........9 months ago.

Q. You write both poetry and prose, do you have a preference over one or do you equally enjoy writing both?

A. I'd say I enjoy writing both equally, really. Poetry and prose are both ways for me to vent and express different emotions, poetry is more of a way to make it different, artistry-wise. Prose is the same when it comes to expressing emotion, but different in terms of artistic value for me.

Q. What genre do you typically write and why?

A. I honestly don't know if there would be a genre my poetry and prose would be classified as. Autobiographical, perhaps? LOL! I've never thought about it genre-wise 'cause my writings are always from my heart and experiences, so I guess it would be of the autobiographical standard.

Q. Do you have any outside influences on your writing style? (authors, poets)

A. I often read a lot of poetry even when I was a little kid, but now I don't really read poetry by "famous" poets. And this reason is because I don't want to find myself emulating any poet or writer. Or to have any one poet REALLY influence my "style." (If I have one) But even then, I'll get the urge to read some poetry by a Bukowski or Mary Shelley or something along those lines.

Q. Can you explain your writing process?

A. Explaining my writing process is really, pretty simple. Once I get hit with inspiration (Which is almost all the time, now), I find the nearest writing utensil (Whether it be a pencil and paper, or my laptop), I'll get to work and put that idea down. And if I'm not satisfied with what I've come up with from my inspiration, I'll leave the concept for later, to see if I could better expand upon it.

Q. What tips would you give to an aspiring writer?

A. My tips for an aspiring writer would be to just write what you want and write from your heart. So many wonderful things will come along with it and if people do that, I really think that's the most important thing for writers. Simple, I know, but I feel it's really worked for me.

Q. Do you think there is anything a writer shouldn't write? (i.e. potential offensive material, things the writer doesn't know.)

A. Honestly, I think a writer can write about anything he or she so chooses. No one's art should be censored or restricted, no matter how offensive or horrible (In a person's eyes), it may be. Just know writing about controversial or potentially offensive issues also brings great consequences and responsibilities depending on what's written.

Q. Do you have any hobbies outside of dA?

A. Why of course! Listening to music, playing video games, reading, hanging with my family. Y'know, all the usual stuff. I'm a pretty simply guy so I don't need much to entertain me.

Q. Is there anything else you'd like us to know about you?

A. Anything else? Nah, not too much else. Just that I'm glad =NobleQueenOfLothaire (You are very welcome!) took the time to interview me, this was great. And I hope you guys enjoyed reading this as much as I really enjoyed answering all of these great questions.

I suppose the last thing is that I hope people continue to gravitate and enjoy my poetry as it's always a truly wonderful feeling to know that people that are able to relate to me a little bit. 'Cause all of my poetry has and will continue to come directly from my heart.

Here are some of his works

Gift: You + Me
Back in May of 2012
I was going through a really tough time
I was losing some people whom I thought were really good friends of mine
But as time went on I realized I was wrong
Feeling lonely and melancholy I felt as though I had no one to lean on
But come the middle of May and that very fateful day
You and I began to talk
And I think I even felt it back then
That you and I were meant to be good friends
And towards the end of May I’m saying to myself,
“Man, this person’s really cool!”
I often wondered if you thought the same thing too
And don’t laugh when I say this
But I began to believe
This was payback for all of the bad friendships I’ve had to go through
Then June arrives
About a month in, that’s when I expec
At Night, I CryAt Night, I Cry

At night, I cry because I can’t stop thinking about the old me
When no one’s around, I weep warm tears that slide down my cheeks slowly
And it’s odd, I feel so unsatisfied but I refuse to use the word “unhappy”
I think back to the times where I would just laugh with my little friends, gleefully
Now that I’m older, I feel myself constantly over-thinking
Just constantly thinking of bad habits and fears
Maybe it’s something I did; maybe I’m the bad seed
Maybe I do deserve this horrible treatment by my peers
Or maybe I’m just doing what I do best, over-think
I do it everyday, think to the point where it sickens me
Now I’m physically sick from staring at this laptop screen, constantly
‘Cause now it seems it’s all I have left
Everyone knows what I crave but I can’t seem to do anything about it
And I can’t share my innermost thoughts with them, in-depth
Because my mom will
  GirlsGirls

This poem is for all the wonderful women, ladies, girls
And I think women actually may rule the world,
But humans of the female persuasion are more than pearls
They’re diamonds; critical to man and his kind, but if men do rule the Earth,
It’s probably a woman’s universe
And don’t let anyone tell you otherwise
The world is yours and you can do anything your heart desires
And to the stereotypes and prejudice, you ladies should throw to fire
You’re more than just a pretty face, an object of desire, or housewife
You’re not meant to just play with barbies or like pink, being into sports is more than fine
You’re far more than the exterior; you are the inside
You’re the soul and mind, the most important part of a human being
You’re more than a damsel in distress, you can be Katniss Everdeen
You can be the focus of the music that everyone sings
You can be the face of an entire nation, if you wanna be

Welcome To The InternetWelcome To The Internet

Welcome to the internet, young one
The place where it’s normal for “trolls” to roam,
And where an internet thug will “bust a cap in ya’,”
For disagreeing with him on the debate of Russell Westbrook vs. Derrick Rose,
Where we have pseudo-politicians spewing their nonsensical rhetoric,
And if you dare even disagree with THEM?
You’re a “dumbass;” or you’re goin’ to Hell and are a fake (insert-nationality-here, my friend)
And how if they knew you in real life, they’d bring your life to an end,
The place where it’s okay to call someone “retarded,”
Because this isn’t real life, no, this is the internet and they’ll get over it!
One of the greatest creations known to man, most certainly,
But also one that could be used as a weapon,
To the talk of deaths over cyber-bullying, to rumors of the “Illuminati,”
With the internet, we can put a m

Our eyes connect,
We smile at one another,
Yet the moment fades in a second,
But my speeding heartbeat still lingers.
